Gerome Sapp started Health Binge in 2016. “I was inspired to create Health Binge while sitting in my MBA class at the Harvard Business School. I was hungry but I didn’t want to eat unhealthy snacks. I wanted something healthier to eat that taste good, with the convenience of fast food. So, I merged the concept of a grab and go lunch system that I created for athletes at Notre Dame University while I played football and was a Captain of team. I also included what I learned about healthy meal prepping that my NFL teams often provided while I was in the league. This merging of two concepts was the foundation of Health Binge.”

“Our business model revolves around opening Health Binge branded retail stores as a point of contact with customers. Our stores would allow any one the ability to come in, grab a prepackaged healthy meal and go! No subscriptions to our meals are needed. Health Binge is branding itself as a ‘Fresh Prepared Meal’ company as opposed to a meal-prep company, which creates a heightened sense of quality and freshness around our brand.”

When asked about the advice he would offer to a new small business owner, Gerome says, “Keep going! There are many days and months of uncertainty and stress of starting and running a business. But, there is always light at the end of the tunnel if you are able to stay persistent and make necessary pivots with your business to reach that light.”

In two years, our goal is to have Health Binge stores located throughout Nevada and expand into Southern California where there is already a demand for our meals. This vision will become a reality due to the support of the Nevada Business Opportunity Fund. NBOF gave me an opportunity to succeed when other traditional lending institutions didn’t. That belief has made all the difference in the world to me, my family, and my business.”
